Blackbelt

I have no idea if this vanity plate refers to martial arts, six-sigma certification, or the color of the car...also, car was blaring rap music. . . not sure what that means, if anything. It was a perfect morning to have the top down.

Crunchy Christian

This is a great example of self-branding on your vehicle.

1) Lots of outdoor paraphernalia labels

2) Assorted Christian-themed band stickers, and the fish, of course

3) Share the Road bike plate

I also saw a black truck yesterday with this vanity plate:

Potpourri

I think the first one means that they are pro-environment, but I'm not sure it might not be misinterpreted as supporting the Republican VP candidate.

This one, obviously, a religious one. And, one I haven't seen before.

Next, if you can click on it (above) it will show up bigger, but is a basic "guns v. education" comment.

and, I like these riffs on the W the president stickers (see earlier posts)
Lastly, a local cause or two--save piedmont park; don't wreck your car cause you're on a cell phone, and some residual support from the last election. This car even had coverred up a Kathy Cox for governor sticker (GA election a few years ago...Sonny won).

Unfortunately, I don't have a clearer picture of the one below. I guess I could try harder, but I was in my car. sometimes seeing them on the screen of a computer helps clear it up.

Specialty Plates

I'd been wondering lately just how many special groups have license plates (in Georgia, at least, since I do most of my driving here). Now, thanks to the DOT, I have an answer. 97

*Update*
thanks, Kate, for this one:

Potpourri

Occupations first. Above is a tastefully decked out Marine corps supporter/member/veteran. Bumper sticker, license plate frame, and hitch cover. The only thing missing is a service specific license plate. And the green truck really sets it all off. Below, is a really impressive display of hunting (specifically deer, and with bow). Also, a GA wildlife plate, and on the side of the vehicle, spill over from the decals and advertising a service to other hunters.

Above, a suggestion. Below, either a warning, or compensation for the CRX.

More to come this weekend. I received a contribution and saw some REPUBLICANS yesterday.

Harry Potter Fans

I wish my camera were more powerful or that I had been somewhere where I could stop and get a good picture of the vanity plate I saw the other day. It was a Slytherin supporter. The plate used numbers to spell it all out (leading me to believe there is another one out there). 5LTH3RIN
They also had a Slytherin Class of ______ bumper sticker, and other stuff, like bands stickers. Oh well. If I see them again I'll do better.

(update: this is the car itself, but I'm certain that the plate is not visible. Keep your eyes peeled for late 90's corollas.) (update 2: I had no idea this was so popular http://www.mugglenet.com/plates.shtml)

Peace, Love, Oil

And today, after I had lunch with my husband, I drove by this gem.

The truck might be hard to see, I was a bit lazy in capturing it. I think the theme of that vehicle is hypocrisy annoys them.

Finally, a car with some notoriety in this area, and a nice vanity plate. You can read more about this car in a recent newspaper article.

Delaware County, IN

Home of Ball State, "Middletown", and my in-laws. Also, lots of corn.

So, above and to the right, the ideal of a college/grad student vehicle. Possibly handed down through several generations of Ball State Cardinals. And, below, the parents of some members of a local band, perhaps tutored by some of the members of the (renowned, in fact) Ball State music faculty. Also note the special license plate (In God We Trust), apparently this specialty plate is free and according to a "local man" its caused a bit of controversy. Not at the Olive Garden, though, where its quite popular (I didn't count, but I promise there were a row of them parked together):

Cars on the Road

Number 1: antist8
Bumper stickers are: Join the Ron Paul REVolution, a charming white lettering on black background "__ the President" sticker (not W.), an anarchy symbol, and a darwin fish.
The second one is IRNMN78 , not sure if that is the year of the first competition or year of birth. I'm leaning toward year of birth. Plate frame: Triathlete, Bike, Swim, Run.
(I was stopped when these pictures were taken. Note the brake lights in the subject vehicles. Safety first.)

The Proud Republican, and a Countdown

This is the only sticker on the car, besides a AAA membership decal.

I snapped this, thinking it might be inauguration day, but Jan 18 , it turns out, is not (its the 20th). Things that do happen on Jan 18 are here

Causes

So, you can see that this person is a Democrat. They also support pet adoption.

The vanity plate I saw in Tennessee last weekend said:

NOMNSNO

Yup: No Means No

Vanity Plates

On my way home today I saw this one:
GZUSDVA
"Jesus Diva"

A long time ago in St. Louis I saw a small truck covered in Vietnam veteran bumper stickers and retire Marine Corps decals. The vanity plate read: NAPALM

In honor of their early exit from the big dance:
